International Altay Communities Symposium 2022 to be held in Tashkent

Altay Communities Symposium-IX Epics and Epic Culture started on September 27 in the city of Bursa (Turkey).

The delegation of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies also takes part in the symposium.

According to the Dean of the Faculty of Korean Studies of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, Doctor of Philology, Professor Shoira Usmanova, about 100 representatives from different countries took part in the conference.

The director of the State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, folklorist, professor Jabbor Eshankulov, Head of the Uzbek and Russian Languages ​​Department at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Mekhribon Abdurakhmanova addressed the event.

It was noted that a collection of dastans of more than 100 volumes is being prepared under the leadership of Professor Fikret Türkmen. Eight volumes of the 66-volume collection of Turkish folk epics, published in Turkey, are devoted to Uzbek epics, and a separate edition of the epic “Erali and Sherali” in the children’s series testifies to the special role of the Uzbek epic in Altai studies.

Following the conference, the organizers proposed to hold the Altay Communities Symposium-X in 2022 in Tashkent with the assistance of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
