Uzbekistan celebrates the 581st anniversary of the great thinker Alisher Navoi and the 539th anniversary of the outstanding statesman and poet Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur’s birth.
At the initiative of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a roundtable discussion was held on “The anthem of interethnic friendship in the works of Navoi and Babur”, on the occasion of the above significant dates.
The event was attended by teachers and students of Tashkent State University of the Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi, activists of national cultural centers.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev carries out systematic work on a comprehensive and in-depth study and promotion of the creative heritage and perpetuating the memory of Alisher Navoi and Babur. At the Turkic Council Summit in 2021, on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, it was decided to establish the Alisher Navoi International Prize to encourage famous people for their significant contribution to the development of science, education, culture, art and unity of the Turkic world.
It was emphasized that the improvement of the mausoleum of Alisher Navoi in the city of Herat in Afghanistan, the construction in Tashkent on the territory adjacent to the Alley of Writers of the Museum of Literature named after the writer, a research center, the Institute of the Uzbek Language, Literature and Folklore, as well as a school is an expression of high respect to the memory and priceless heritage of our ancestors.
The need was noted for translating the works of Navoi and Babur into foreign languages, which will help bring the ideas of interethnic harmony, solidarity and tolerance to a wide range of readers.
