As a result of the special significance attached under the leadership of the President of our country to the support for small business and private entrepreneurship, the role of this sphere in the economy of the nation has been rising notably. It is backed by the fact that in the reported period, more than 15 thousand new entities of entrepreneurship were set up in our country. The share of small business in the industrial output rose from 28.9 to 31.4 percent, while in the sphere of employment it grew from 76.8 to 77.2 percent.

The Trade and Industry Chamber of Uzbekistan has assisted in the establishment of 34 joint ventures with the participation of foreign capital. 84 enterprises were helped in the procurement of overseas-origin technologies totaling around 23 million dollars.

In the modernization of enterprises and launching of new production lines, important are the fairs and business meetings organized for the entrepreneurs. In the first half of the current year, 65 commercial agreements were signed by local and foreign entrepreneurs during the 91 fairs held in Uzbekistan. Under the assistance of the TIC of Uzbekistan, entrepreneurs from our country took part in the fairs and expositions organized abroad, including Germany, Italy, Great Britain, South Korea, China, India, United Arab Emirates and Russia, and as a result 34 deals were inked.

The decree of the head of our state “On measures to secure reliable protection of private property, small business and private entrepreneurship, remove barriers on the way of their accelerated development”, penned 15 May 2015, serves as an important guide for action in boosting the role and place of entrepreneurship in the economy, removing the existing barriers and restrictions when launching entrepreneurship activity.
