The Manager for Gender and Youth Programmes at the Inter-Parliamentary Union Secretariat, Zeina Hilal, visited the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
At the meeting with Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate, special emphasis was placed on the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at promoting gender equality, with the parliament playing a key role in this process.

The parties also discussed preparations for the forums on gender equality and increasing women’s social engagement, to be held as part of the upcoming 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The vital role of parliament was emphasized in strengthening cooperation with state institutions, implementing measures aimed at empowering women, enhancing their social and economic participation, and ensuring gender equality.
An agreement was reached on taking practical steps to strengthen bilateral cooperation and to create new opportunities for women and youth in the future.
