Namangan district electoral commission No 6 for the elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has held a scheduled session on preparing polling stations and on forming precinct electoral commissions.

In Namangan Region, too, intense preparations are being conducted for the 4 December 2016 elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In accordance with the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, all the necessary conditions should be created for the elections to be held on the basis of democratic principles of equality and transparency and for voters to freely express their will. For this purpose 690 electoral precincts have been formed in the region.

“These days organizational measures are consistently being carried out to equip the polling stations and to improve the territories, thus creating conveniences for voters. Work is in progress to form precinct electoral commissions and to ensure that this important political process conforms to international standards. Members of the district electoral commission are providing practical-methodological help in forming precinct electoral commissions in localities,” says Ozoda Choboyeva, deputy chairperson of Namangan district electoral commission No 6.

During the event, reports by commission members responsibly assigned to the town of Namangan and to the districts of Mingbuloq, Namangan, Uchqorghon, Pop, Kosonsoy and Toraqorghon were heard on work on preparing the polling stations and on results of this work.

It was noted that in line with a resolution by the district electoral commission, exemplary work was being carried out to equip the polling stations in Yangiqorghon and Uchqorghon districts so that they meet regulatory requirements and that the territories were also being improved.

The issue of forming the composition of precinct electoral commissions was also discussed, and the tasks of commission members were specified.
