Information Services 2024: National and International Experiences

Tashkent hosts a workshop for press secretaries of ministries and agencies of member countries of the Organization of Turkic States “Information Services 2024: National and International Experiences”.

Over 120 press secretaries from a diverse range of government bodies and organizations, spanning Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, are actively participating in this significant event. 

AIMC Director Asadjon Khodjayev welcomed the event participants and noted that developing ties in information is one of the essential aspects of New Uzbekistan’s foreign policy. 

“In the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan, priority attention is paid to building up defense potential and security, pursuing an open, pragmatic, and active foreign policy, increasing the role of the country as an equal subject in international relations, raising close cooperation in Central Asia to a higher level in trade, economic, water, energy, transport, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, further development of relations with our traditional partners, expansion of the geography of external relations”, Mr. Khodjayev noted. “In particular, an important aspect of foreign policy is strengthening ties with Turkic countries. Intensifying cooperation with the Organization of Turkic States opens our country to new opportunities for developing multilateral relations with neighboring countries and partners outside the region”.

The event was also addressed by an expert from the Organization of Turkic States Almagul Serikbayeva, Chairman of the Audiovisual Council of Azerbaijan Ismat Sattarov, Head of the Public Relations Coordination Department of the Information Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Aksholpan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar, who outlined their opinions and judgments about the significance of the joint workshop.

It was noted that the press services of government bodies and organizations play a vital role in disseminating information in the media, analyzing appeals, and promptly responding to controversial situations.

When everything in the world changes very quickly, it is essential for the Turkic peoples, whose language, religion, and customs are closely related, to cooperate and work together on various issues. The Organization of Turkic States occupies an important place in the emerging new world order and system of international institutions and is constantly working with member countries not only to strengthen mutual economic cooperation but also to jointly develop the information sphere, combating various fakes and disinformation. 

The workshop featured a comprehensive presentation by the press services of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States, covering a wide range of topics. The program also included media training, providing a holistic learning experience for the attendees.
