A renowned Indian singer, a well-known representative of the music and entertainment industry Shibani Kashyap, in an exclusive interview with India’s The Sunday Guardian, spoke about her concerts in Uzbekistan.
Shibani Kashyap visited Uzbekistan in the second half of March. Her tour program was rich in songs, music and dances.
The singer in her interview noted the hospitality with which she was met by lovers of Indian music in Uzbekistan. “I think Uzbekistan was one of the charming experiences for me. The kind of love I received not just as an artist, but as an Indian performer, it was unsurpassed. I don’t think I’ve got this kind of love, this kind of affection and joy anywhere”, she noted.
Shibani Kashyap told about her surprise at the special attitude and love of the Uzbek public for Indian culture and Bollywood. “It was just a five-day trip, but in those five days I felt I lived a different life altogether”, the renowned Indian singer said.
The correspondent of the edition asked about the role of music in bringing the two countries together.
“I think music creates a huge connection between the two countries. When an individual from one country performs, it just makes them love you so much. And when we get that kind of appreciation, it just brings two countries closer. It just almost becomes like a family kind of situation. Moreover, there were several concerts where there were no Indians at all. Only Uzbeks. And the way they appreciated, danced and sang the music, they sang it by heart. They don’t understand Hindi, but they sang in Hindi word for word. That was amazing”, Shibani Kashyap shared her delight.
