The Development Strategy Center held a presentation of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 for a delegation of the National Defence College of India.
Executive Director of the Development Strategy Center Eldor Tulyakov noted that the document includes seven areas and one hundred goals aimed at developing the country in the next five years.
Ensuring stable high growth rates in the sectors of the economy, in the next five years, a basis will be created to increase GDP per capita by 1.6 times and income per capita by 2030 to $4 thousand, as well as to include Uzbekistan among the “countries with the above average income”. Undoubtedly, an increase in the inflow of investments into the country is of great importance for these processes. In this regard, in the next five years, it is planned to attract $120 billion, including $70 billion of foreign investment.
In particular, within the framework of the seventh paragraph of the Development Strategy – strengthening the security and defense potential of the country, maintaining an open, pragmatic and active foreign policy – in the next five years, further acceleration of interaction in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres with the countries of South Asia, Asia-Pacific, CIS, European Union and America, as well as the Near, Middle East and African region will be implemented.
Undoubtedly, strong friendly ties between Uzbekistan and India are of great importance in enhancing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the countries of South Asia in the political, socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Following the presentation, Mr. Tulyakov answered questions from participants about the implementation of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022–2026, aimed, among other things, at further developing friendly relations between Uzbekistan and India.
