Indian experts on the participation of the country’s Leader in the SCO Summit
Leading Indian information and analytical centers assessed the goals and objectives of the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Samarkand.
According to experts, India should send more positive signals and engage more actively with SCO members. It would be preferable for India to follow consensus within the SCO, in which case New Delhi could benefit more from the organization and play a more positive role in it.
Membership in the SCO is also useful for India to build a dialogue with Pakistan. Regarding relations between India and China, it is noted that the organization is an important mechanism for both sides in terms of reducing tensions on the border and finding more opportunities for cooperation.
