12:27 / 2025-03-28

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambayev met with Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary of the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation of India.

At the meeting, the parties discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and India in key areas, such as the rational use of water resources, the introduction of modern technologies and innovative solutions in the sector, the exchange of best practices, and the implementation of joint projects.

Particular attention was given to prospects for establishing fruitful collaboration between specialized scientific institutions and research centers of both countries, as well as to the effective use of their potential.

The parties reached an agreement on the preparation and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, which will create opportunities to elevate multilateral cooperation between the relevant ministries and agencies of both countries to a new level.

Debashree Mukherjee confirmed that an Indian delegation will actively participate in the upcoming International Climate Forum, scheduled to take place in April in Samarkand at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan.

Members of the Indian delegation plan to hold meetings and negotiations during the forum, where prospects for cooperation will be discussed.
