Uzbek Cinema Days were held within the framework of the XIV Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road”.

A memorandum was signed between Uzbekistan Cinematography Agency and the Kartina Entertainment studio of India on the joint filming of the “Star” film.

“Today is an important day for us. We have finally signed a memorandum on the creation of a joint film with Uzbek filmmakers”, says Indian producer and director Sarfaraz Alam. This dramatic musical is about love. The goal is to show the connection between the history of art and architecture of the two countries. In particular, a significant place is given to national music in the film. To participate in the shooting of the film, we invited the legendary Bollywood actress Hema Malini and Dimple Kapadia.

We are negotiating with Mithun Chakraborty and other artists. We are planning to shoot the film in Bukhara. I am sure that we will work with Uzbekistan on many more projects.

Turkish, Iranian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz film actors are also invited to participate in this film. In turn, Uzbek actors receive invitations to participate in other international films. This festival serves as a bridge for establishing cooperation between filmmakers.
