In the first half of the year, the volume of bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Thailand increased by 170%

Acting Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Shokhrukh Gulamov met with the Thai delegation led by Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Busadee Santipitaks.

The delegation included heads of large Thai companies such as Samitivej Hospital, PTT Oil and Retail, Thai President Food, Siang Heng, Marine Tech International, CTI Logistics, and Anita Silk Company.

The Thai side expressed gratitude for providing a visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan for up to 60 days.

The growth rate of mutual trade between the two countries shows positive results  - in the first half of this year, the volume of mutual trade increased by 170%. The importance of taking measures to increase the number of joint investment projects and bring trade turnover to $500 million shortly was noted.

Following the meeting, agreements were reached on the development of a plan of joint measures for the development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation. These agreements, which include the implementation of joint projects in agriculture, tourism, the food industry, and the production of textiles and electrical products, hold significant potential for growth and development.
