In Farghona Region’s towns and districts, industrial production increasing

In the past period of this year, 1 thousand 138 projects have been implemented in Farghona Region, eastern Uzbekistan, and more than 220 billion soms of funds have been spent for them.

Programmes were worked out in the region this year for the purpose of modernization and diversification of leading economic sectors and strengthening macro-economic stability through the further expansion of systemic changes. And their implementation in the region is completely ensured.

In recent years, promising programmes were being put into practice in towns and districts within their possibilities.

Growing industrial potential especially in rural areas serves to ensure economic stability and wellbeing. In Quva district alone, the volume of industrial output amounted to 105 billion soms in 2013, and last year this indicator nearly doubled to reach 194.3 billion soms.

A confectionery factory in the district was in a difficult economic situation several years ago. This enterprise started working in a stable manner thanks to a 5 million dollar credit from a bank.

“At our enterprise, 150 college graduates were provided with jobs, and more than 20 types of products are being made. Last year, modern technologies and sweets wrapping equipment were brought in from Germany for 1 million 350 thousand euros worth of funds. This further raised the quality and competitiveness of the products. We plan to start the export of our products to foreign countries by the end of this year,” says the chief engineer of the Quva qandolatlari LLC, Saidahmad Umarov.

The number of such enterprises as Quva qandolatlari using modern technologies is rising in the district. And this is an important factor in ensuring people’s employment.

“Our enterprise has the capacity to process 5-6 tonnes of milk a day. Here 580 million soms worth of modern equipment has been installed. College graduates are skilfully operating them, thus increasing productivity,” says Qubbo aismilk private enterprise’s director, Eldor Ermatov.

Small business and private entrepreneurship entities in the district are also developing rapidly.

The presidential decree dated 15 May 2015 “On measures to secure the reliable protection of private property, small business and private entrepreneurship and to remove barriers to their accelerated development” is an important programme documents in the modernization of industry’s sectors and the expansion of the production of competitive goods.

“For seven billion soms of investment, we installed 1000-tonne freezers. Last year, we brought in from abroad 500 thousand dollars worth of equipment for qualitatively sorting fruits and vegetables and installed it. This equipment can sort 35 tonnes of fruits and vegetables a day. Soon we will put into operation technologies that process 5 tonnes of fruits an hour and make juice. This will make it possible to create another 20 jobs,” says the director of the Qubbo vitamin LLC, Jahongir Akbarov.
