Improving the system of storage and research of ancient written sources

The “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand hosted the last event of the Week of International Pilgrimage Tourism – the second sectional meeting of the international conference on the “Issues of improving the system of storage and research of ancient written sources”.

About 50 scientists and specialists from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Egypt took part in the meeting dedicated to the issues of conservation and restoration of rare sources, a compilation of a registry and digitalization. More than twenty scientific reports were heard.

“Together with domestic and foreign experts, we discussed the work carried out in storage and research of rare written sources, carried out in the country”, says Otabek Muhammadiyev, Deputy Director of the International Research Center named after Imam Bukhari. – We talked about our activities in this area, studied foreign experience. We agreed to publish a scientific collection of participants’ reports.

It was noted that the issues discussed during the Week, the agreements reached will serve the further development of pilgrimage tourism in the country.
