An International Scientific and Practical Conference on “Journalism and mass communications in the 21st century: development trends, education and technology” was held at the National University of Uzbekistan with the participation of leading scientists from Italy, the United States, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Karakalpakstan.
“The main goal of the conference, organized in connection with the 106th anniversary of the National University of Uzbekistan, is to attract the attention of the general public to research in journalism, communication, artificial intelligence, media, public relations, design, media literacy, advertising, and media linguistics. The participants addressed the issue of strengthening cooperation between journalism faculties of Central Asian countries”, says Makhliyo Mirsoatova, Dean of the National University of Uzbekistan.
An expert from the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan, Annette Obolensky, and the Head of the United Nations Information Office in Kazakhstan, Vlastimil Samek, noted that large-scale reforms, policies of renewal, and openness implemented in Uzbekistan also pose important tasks for journalists.
During the scientific and practical conference, it was emphasized that exchanging new knowledge and experience in journalism and mass communications and introducing modern technologies are important tasks in our era.
