Historical decisions were made during the SCO Summit, held in ancient Samarkand. The SCO Strategy was determined. Armed clashes, global climate change, environmental problems, and the consequences of the pandemic have changed the world. All this also allowed the countries to get closer to each other, cooperate and unite.
As the President noted in his speech at the SCO Summit, during the period of Uzbekistan's chairmanship in the SCO, its activities were aimed at further safe and stable development, improvement of interstate relations based on the principles of mutual respect, friendly and good-neighborly relations. We became convinced that at that time several proposals were put forward that would raise the SCO’s activities to a new level. One of these comprehensively justified proposals is aimed at ensuring peace, security and prosperity in the SCO region. This proposal is based on such an important task as strengthening solidarity, unity, mutual support and partnership between the participating countries on the principles of the “Shanghai Spirit”. More than 40 agreements, concepts, programs and other decisions were signed and adopted during the summit. All of them will serve to fill cooperation in promising areas of SCO activities with qualitatively new practical content.
The decisions taken at the Samarkand Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization are of great importance in the implementation of joint projects and programs for environmental protection, and the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies in the member countries of the Organization. They will also make a worthy contribution to joining efforts in establishing an active dialogue with international institutions to increase the share of the green economy, strengthen cooperation both regionally and globally.
