Implementation of the recommendations of international organizations – an important sign of democratic changes
13:36 / 2023-06-27

The participation of observers from international organizations and foreign countries is important in holding elections transparently and by democratic international requirements.

Through elections, citizens directly manage society and state affairs, expressing their will to form state bodies democratically.

Particular attention was paid to this in the interim report of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights on Early Presidential Election in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As noted, to date, the CEC has registered 107 international observers. The legal foundations and all the necessary conditions have been created for holding the upcoming presidential elections based on democratic principles – freely, fairly, and at a high organizational and legal level by national and generally recognized international norms.

In turn, by bringing electoral legislation and practice in line with generally accepted international democratic standards, it is possible to ensure a broader provision of citizens’ electoral rights. Therefore, the proposals and recommendations of international observers are gradually being introduced into the national electoral legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
