Immortalized history: Bakhshi Festival presents Karakalpakstan’s folk art collection
Karakalpakstan’s folk art is presented at Bakhshi International Art Festival.
Karakalpakstan’s folk art is presented at Bakhshi International Art Festival, the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
At the meeting with representatives of Nuroniy Fund for supporting social activities of Uzbekistan veterans of the Karakalpak Branch, the Deputy Prime Minister A.Abdukhakimov discussed issues of preservation of folk art in the modern world and its importance in the history of Uzbekistan people.
The folklore of the Karakalpaks is very rich and has an ancient history. Dastans (epics) have a special place in it. The present edition, presented at the festival, includes eight versions of Alpamysh dastan, each of which was prepared strictly according to the original manuscript. In order to preserve individual performance skills of each jyrau-narrator and, most importantly, to preserve the content of spiritual creations, the texts are, as far as possible, given in unchanged form.
