The Center for the Study of Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, located abroad, under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, pays constant attention to acquaintance with copies of the unique manuscripts of our great ancestors abroad, their study, bringing to the public. Therefore, systematic work is underway to study manuscripts of Alisher Navoi’s works located abroad, to obtain their copies.
Head of Department for Cultural Property Studies located in foreign museums, scientific institutions, archives and libraries of Center for the Study of Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan located abroad, Doctor of Philological Sciences Aftondil Erkinov presented information on manuscripts of Alisher Navoi’s works abroad.
“The center, in the course of studying ancient manuscripts, is also engaged in acquainting the country’s scientific community with them”, says Navoi scientist Aftondil Erkinov. “In this process, an important task for the center’s employees is to obtain detailed information about artifacts abroad.
For example, during foreign business trips, special attention is paid to the manuscripts of Alisher Navoi. It should be noted that before the creation of the center of Navoi’s manuscripts or other great thinkers of our people, we learned from books. Access to them was limited. As a result of the creation of the center, joint work began with scientific institutions abroad, manuscript funds, museums, and the opportunity appeared to study the artifacts they contained.
During our business trips, we also visited Germany and Russia. Became familiar with ancient manuscripts in the UK. Many of the manuscripts stored there were brought during the wars. In general, hundreds of copies of the manuscripts of our scientists can be seen in libraries and museums abroad. Currently, there is an opportunity to become familiar with them through the Center for the Study of Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan located abroad. Our goal is to create their catalogs and registers, that is, collect available information and familiarize the scientific community and people.
