The Director of the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA), Javlon Vakhabov, met with Alexander Dynkin, the President of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

During the conversation, the Russian side was informed about IICA’s activities, central areas of research, and information-analytical work. The heads of the two research organizations also exchanged views on the institutes’ experience and best practices in organizing comprehensive fundamental and applied socio-economic, political, and strategic research focused on analyzing the main trends in regional and global development.

At the meeting, the parties also discussed the prospects of creating a mechanism for interaction between analytical centers in the Central Asia – Russia format, which is designed to become an effective platform for expert and analytical dialogue and discussion of regional issues.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to increase academic exchange and implement joint research projects. This will further deepen research ties and expand partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia expert and analytical communities.
