IICAS hosts a meeting with the representatives of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation

A meeting with Mr. Ronny Heine, an Authorized Representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for Central Asia has been held at the International Institute for Central Asian Studies.

Mr. Anvar Nasirov, IICAS Director informed the guest in detail about the main tasks and activities of the Institute, established on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan.

It was emphasized that the main priority of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy is to strengthen friendly and constructive relations with Central Asian states, to ensure peace and stability in the region.

The Representative of the Foundation was informed about the forthcoming International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities” to be held in May 2021, its goals and objectives.

Mr. Ronny Heine highly appreciated the reforms and transformations in the country carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as the ongoing open and constructive foreign policy, especially in the Central Asian region.

It was noted that Uzbekistan’s new policy gave a powerful impetus to the intensification of cooperation in Central Asia, contributed to an increase in the interest of European states in the countries of Central Asia and the process taking place in the region.

The participants expressed their readiness to establish a partnership between the Foundation and IICAS, to hold joint events to develop new approaches and initiatives that meet the common interests of all countries in the region.
