Director of the International Institute for Central Asia Javlon Vakhabov met with Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Central Asia, the Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Kaha Imnadze.
During the conversation, views were exchanged on the development of processes in Central Asia, C5+1 formats, prospects, and forms of interaction between the UNRCCA and IICA.

Kaha Imnadze expressed gratitude for the policy of good neighborliness and openness pursued by the President of Uzbekistan, which aims to rapprochement with the region’s countries. According to him, thanks to this constructive course, over the past few years, unique conditions have been created to strengthen relations between neighboring countries.

The diplomat spoke about the main activities of the UNRCCA based on the organization’s mandate. Thus, the priority areas are politics and security, issues of water resources in the region, the development of dialogue between women and youth, and the settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.

Following the meeting, Kaha Imnadze expressed his readiness to continue to maintain constant contact with IICA, actively participating in the Institute’s events, as well as promoting cooperation with regional analytical structures within the framework of the Central Asian Expert Forum in the interests of strengthening peace, security, and prosperity in the region.
