IICA hosted a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait to Uzbekistan Ahmad Al-Jiran.
During the conversation, the parties noted that relations between the two countries systematically develop in various spheres. Kuwait is one of Uzbekistan’s key partners in the Middle East region, especially in a new interaction format – the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf + Central Asia.
Ahmad Al-Jiran noted that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's initiatives at the first Gulf-Central Asia summit aimed to further the rapprochement and development of regional connectivity.
As noted, cooperation in artificial intelligence, green economy, digitalization, smart agriculture, nano and biotechnology, tourism, trade, transport, ecology, and climate change is key to developing relations between Central Asia and the Gulf states. This process strengthens cooperation between regions and contributes to the development of individual countries and the entire world community.
It was stated that there was a need for regular consultations between IICA and the Embassy of Kuwait. This step will provide an opportunity to discuss current issues, including the development of proposals and initiatives to develop political dialogue and expand trade, economic, and investment cooperation within the framework of the GCC+CA.
Considering the upcoming Samarkand Summit in 2025, this dialogue can play a key role in preparing and coordinating joint efforts on current issues on the agenda.
In conclusion, the Ambassador also expressed his readiness to support establishing partnerships between IICA and leading think tanks in Kuwait.
