IICA strengthens cooperation with Korean partners

To further deepen interaction between Central Asia and Korea, a meeting was held at the International Institute for Central Asia with the Executive Vice-President of the Korea Foundation and Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum, Rhee Jong Kook.

The Secretariat of the Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum is an international structure created under the Korea Foundation in 2017. Its goal is to strengthen interaction between the countries of Central Asia and Korea by supporting the systemic implementation of projects.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the key areas of IICA and the Secretariat’s activity and outlined prospects for cooperation.

Rhee Jong Kook highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s contribution to strengthening the region’s interaction with Korea and presented his plans for developing multilateral cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to the importance of the upcoming Korean-Central Asian Think Tanks Forum, which will become an additional platform for dialogue and partnership between the analytical structures of the two sides.

Following the meeting, the guest emphasized that IICA and the Secretariat have common goals and objectives corresponding to the partners’ interests and expressed hope for further enhancing collaboration between the countries.
