IICA hosted a meeting with Shiri Shiriyev, the Director of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Director of the Center stressed that the issue of regional security is one of the priorities of cooperation between analytical centers of Central Asian countries.

During the conversation, views were exchanged on priority areas of partnership and deepening cooperation in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement between IICA and IIR of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, including mutual visits, organization of joint conferences, roundtable discussions, and workshops.

In addition, the issues of holding the Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan conference in Tashkent dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli Fragi were discussed. In this regard, Mr. Shiriyev noted with satisfaction that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the celebration of the anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker, as evidenced by the adoption of a special resolution of the President of Uzbekistan on this issue in February this year.
