IICA hosts a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea

International Institute for Central Asia hosted a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan Kim Hee-sang.

The guest was informed about the goals and objectives of the IICA, as well as the events held by the institute together with foreign partners.

The head of the diplomatic mission highly appreciated the strategy for a large-scale modernization of Uzbekistan and society implemented under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan, as well as the foreign policy course aimed at further development and expansion of cooperation with Central Asian countries.

The Ambassador stressed that Uzbekistan and Korea are bound by centuries-old ties of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, which serve as the basis for the successful promotion and deepening of strategic partnership between the two states, joint implementation of mutually beneficial projects in various spheres.

It was noted that the 15th Central Asia - Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum, which is taking place in Busan these days, will help strengthen constructive dialogue and practical interaction between the countries.

An agreement was reached to intensify cooperation between the scientific-academic circles of the two countries, including the active use of the potential of the Central Asia – Republic of Korea format to identify promising areas of cooperation.
