IICA hosts a meeting with the Ambassador of Egypt

Director of the International Institute for Central Asia Javlon Vakhabov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan Amira Fahmy to discuss cooperation prospects.

The parties noted the fruitful interaction between the two countries during Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Cairo in February 2023. During the visit, agreements were reached to create favorable conditions for attracting mutual investments in the gas, chemical, textile, electrical, jewelry, and pharmaceutical industries.

The importance of agreements to enhance cultural and humanitarian ties was also emphasized. An agreement was noted on the development of cooperation in training specialists in the Arabic language and the organization through the efforts of the two countries of the Global Forum of Arabists this year.

Views were exchanged on the current international and regional issues. The dynamic development of mutual support within international organizations such as the UN, OIC, and SCO was noted.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify exchanges between research institutions to promote common regional priorities. The diplomat expressed her readiness to strengthen cooperation between IICA and leading think tanks in Egypt further.
