Director of the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) Javlon Vakhabov held talks in Bishkek with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Asein Isaev.
At the beginning of the conversation, Mr. Isaev noted that thanks to the political will of the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, bilateral relations have reached an even higher level of comprehensive strategic partnership.
As noted at the meeting, rebooting bilateral relations and overcoming several contradictions became possible solely due to Uzbekistan’s strategy for regionalization, strengthening good neighborliness in Central Asia, and further development of integration processes.
Recently, a platform has been created to develop common approaches to implementing projects beneficial to both countries in transport, energy, water resources, ecology, and security.
A ministry representative spoke about the significant role of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia in this process. These meetings laid the foundation for a new format of interstate relations, strengthening the region’s unity and potential.
The parties advocated enhancing cooperation between think tanks and research institutions in the two countries. This would facilitate the exchange of experience and the development of specific proposals, bringing bilateral and multilateral interaction to a new level.
