IICA hosted a meeting with the Business Development Manager at SOS International, Melisa Esposti.

During the conversation, Ms. Esposti indicated that the SOS Foundation specializes in providing services in health protection and human safety, aiming to protect and save lives through research and the provision of humanitarian medical assistance.

“At the moment, our organization owns more than a thousand private medical clinics and hospitals around the world and assists developing countries in overcoming the shortage of modern medical equipment and medicines”, Ms. Esposti said. “We can supply pharmaceuticals, vaccines, surgical equipment, medical supplies, first aid supplies, medical infrastructure and medical kits worldwide”.

Within the framework of this project, more than $4 million worth of healthcare items were delivered to Karakalpakstan, and more than 20 medical institutions in urgent need of medical equipment were partially equipped.

Following the meeting, the Foundation representatives expressed interest in establishing an interaction between SOS and IICA to identify the needs of the population in the Aral Sea region and provide targeted humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable segments of the population.
