Director of the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) Javlon Vakhabov in Bishkek held talks with the Director of the National Institute of Strategic Initiatives under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (NISI) Sanzhar Mukanbetov.
The NISI Director highly appreciated the policy of friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual understanding in Central Asia actively promoted by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This policy allowed the region’s countries to unite and move further along the integration path.
As noted at the meeting, this is evidenced by the settled border issue between the two countries, preparations for the launch of the Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan automobile plant, agreements to begin construction of the China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan railway, and the implementation of the Kambarata HPP-1 construction project.
To underscore the significance of the cooperation between IICA and NISI, and to pave the way for new initiatives that will further strengthen the comprehensive partnership between the two countries, the leaders of IICA and NISI have signed a Joint Actions Plan for 2024-2025.
The document provides for the exchange of visits, holding conferences on deepening strategic partnerships, the widespread introduction of digital technologies in transport and logistics, prospects for cooperation in climate change, ensuring water security, and holding consultations in anticipation of events at various levels.
The parties also agreed to organize a creative evening at IICA in the second half of the year with the participation of experts from the two countries, dedicated to the legacy of the famous Kyrgyz writer, public figure, and diplomat Chingiz Aitmatov.
