IICA and CISSS develop partnership

As part of the visit of the delegation of the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) to Pakistan, the IICA Head, Javlon Vakhabov, met with the Executive Director of the Center for International Strategic Studies Sindh (CISSS) Qazi M. Khalilullah, in Karachi.

The parties discussed the prospects for deepening cooperation in the scientific and research sphere. It was noted that in recent years, an active dynamic in the development of bilateral relations has been observed, constant contacts are maintained at the level of ministries and agencies, and agreements reached at the highest level are being consistently implemented.

In this regard, signing the Strategic Partnership Agreement between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in 2021 became a significant milestone in the relationship, laying the foundation for closer cooperation in various areas.

Representatives of the two institutions also exchanged views on prospects for implementing joint projects to develop transport infrastructure, including constructing the trans-Afghan railway, which will connect Central and South Asia, contributing to economic growth and stability in the region.

Javlon Vakhabov stressed that strengthening research cooperation between analytical centers will allow for a deeper study of regional issues and develop joint recommendations.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the possibility of holding joint conferences and workshops with the participation of experts from research institutes. Such events will create a platform for exchanging opinions and developing joint approaches to solving pressing problems.

Following the meeting, IICA and CISSS directors signed a Cooperation Agreement.

The parties expressed confidence that this document will become a solid foundation for further development of relations in scientific research. It was emphasized that such joint efforts would contribute to strengthening peace, stability, and prosperity in Central and South Asia and would serve as an essential contribution to the realization of common goals and interests in Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

The signing of the Agreement reflects the mutual desire of the two institutions for active cooperation in international research and strategic analysis, which will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening bilateral relations and developing regional integration.
