Today marks 30 years since the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which combines the values of our people that have been formed over the centuries, the foundations of national statehood, and the principles of humanism.
As is known, Uzbekistan was one of the first among the CIS countries to adopt its Constitution, thereby guaranteeing the protection of the rights and freedoms, honor and dignity of its people. Our state has determined the path of independent development.
The Constitution, which is considered one of the main symbols of our independence, is the key to all success and achievements, the basis of ongoing reforms. However, laws change based on the demands of the times, and the Constitution is no exception.
The current Constitution does not meet the rapid global changes of today, the desires and aspirations of our people. It became obvious that the norms included in it are insufficient to ensure the implementation of our noble ideas and goals, such as glorifying the honor and dignity of a person, ensuring people’s satisfaction with their lives.
This is evidenced by the changes introduced to the updated Constitution. Most importantly, special attention in this process is paid to the proposals and wishes of our citizens.
It's no secret that today we are facing many problems and shortcomings in improving the well-being of people. Sometimes our capabilities do not match our wishes. These difficulties and problems will certainly be resolved, because all the reforms carried out today in our country are aimed at this.
As the great Sahibkiran Amir Temur said: “If the state does not rely on laws, it cannot maintain its greatness and power for a long time”.
I congratulate everyone on the Day of the adoption of the Constitution, which determined the basis of our independence!
