Hydroelectric units with a capacity of up to 15 MW to be produced under the “Made in Uzbekistan” brand

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Uzbekhydroenergo JSC and Zhejiang Jinlun Electromechanic of China on the production of hydroelectric units with a capacity of up to 15 MW.

At the event held in this regard, the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekhydroenergo JSC Abdugani Sanginov and the Chairman of Zhejiang Jinlun Electromechanic He Jian Dong noted that the upcoming work on the implementation of the memorandum on establishing production in Uzbekistan of hydroelectric units with a capacity of up to 2-15 MW and the expected results will be important.

“The parties agreed on the construction of a plant for the production of hydroelectric units”, says Avazbek Zokirov, head of the Private Sector Department at Uzbekhydroenergo JSC. – According to this agreement, the plant will be used at full capacity starting from January 2024. In the first stage, hydroelectric units with a capacity of up to 1 MW will be produced, in the second – up to 15 MW.

At the same time, within the framework of this memorandum, together with the well-known company Zhejiang Jinlun Electromechanic of China, which has more than 60 years of experience in hydropower, will establish the operation of the only plant in Central Asia for the production of hydroelectric units with a capacity of 2-15 MW.

In a closing interview for media representatives, Chairman of Zhejiang Jinlun Electromechanic He Jian Dong noted that he was pleased with the cooperation with Uzbekistan.

“We are very pleased that this organization has chosen us as a partner and came to Uzbekistan with a large delegation. Several talks were held as part of the contracts signed today, and it was decided to build and launch the plant by the end of 2023. The company is investing its technology and investments in this project. We will use all our capabilities to implement it. It should be noted that our company was founded in 1952 for the production of equipment in hydropower, and at present, we have implemented more than 600 projects around the world in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe, and Central Asia, in particular in Uzbekistan. I think that we will contribute to the implementation of this project, which is planned to be implemented as part of the Localization Program”, He Jian Dong said.
