At the meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a number of laws on the legal support of reforms implemented in various areas of the country have been considered.

Deputies in the first reading discussed in detail the draft law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

The document imposes an obligation on law enforcement officials and courts to immediately notify the relatives or other close persons of the suspect, the accused, to apply procedural coercion measures against them in the form of detention, house arrest or placement of a person in a medical institution for examination.

They will now record video while detaining a person, reporting about procedural rights, and personal search.

At the meeting, the draft law was conceptually adopted by deputies in the first reading.
