Recently, during the award ceremony for the winners of the IT Star competition, Huawei announced the holding of the following educational project “Seeds for the Future” in Uzbekistan for participants from the countries of the Middle East and Central Asia. It is scheduled for August this year and will involve 150 students from more than 15 regional countries.

Among the awarded outstanding girls in the IT sector of Uzbekistan was Nodira Otabekova, a student at Inha University in Tashkent, a participant in the educational project “Seeds for the Future” last year. Then Nodira became the team leader of the Techno Minds team, which won the title of regional champion and silver medalist of the Tech4Good competition. This year, she has been selected as one of ten global ambassadors for “Seeds for the Future 2024”.

The regional program will include a week-long internship in the study of advanced technologies and solutions, several events with the participation of leading experts in the field, familiarization with Uzbekistan’s culture and traditions, and the annual Tech4Good competition.

Huawei has been operating in Uzbekistan for 25 years, working closely with telecom operators, the public sector, industries, and educational institutions. The “Seeds for the Future” program is Huawei’s flagship global educational program, which is carried out as part of its corporate social responsibility.

Since its launch in 2008, more than 18 thousand students from 141 countries have participated in the program. In previous years, 50 students from Uzbekistan took courses under the program in China, and 82 students took part in the online version of the program in 2020-2022. In 2017, 4 participants of the “Seeds for the Future” project from Uzbekistan took part in the international summit Belt and Road in Beijing.
