There are many historical and cultural monuments and sacred places of worship in ancient Uzbekistan.
Such monuments are examples of national values that preserve ancient history. One of them is the place of worship Khovuskon Ota in Pakhtaabad district.
According to Andijan Regional Department of Cultural Heritage, there are 422 historical and cultural heritage objects in the region: 221 – archaeological objects, 74 – architectural, 42 – monuments, 85 – sightseeing, and sacred places of worship.
Hovuskon Ota has many hills and mineral springs. Based on the historical and archaeological monuments, experts argue that the Khovuskon hills have a long history, in the first millennium BC, the ancient city of Miyon Rudon was located between the Naryn and Qoradaryo rivers. The preserved area is 7-8 hectares. In 1960-1970, archaeological research was carried out on the hills. It is believed that the grotto on the highest hill in the pre-Islamic period was a chapel for the Zoroastrians or some kind of building that suffered from a fire. The city, which was on the hills of Hovuskon, was devastated as a result of medieval wars, civil strife, and natural disasters. The hills and the main part of the city became a cemetery.
The water of the healing springs of this area is rich in minerals and trace elements and helps to cure many diseases.
Hovuskon Ota is under protection as an object of cultural heritage and is included in the tourist route of the region.
