Namangan Region’s volleyball open tournament among girls has taken place in Namangan, a town in eastern Uzbekistan.

The competition, devoted to the 25th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence, was arranged, as part of the “Summer - 2016” programme, by the regional hokimiyat (governorate) in cooperation with the department for culture and sports and the regional section of the Uzbekistan volleyball federation. 17 teams from Sirdaryo, Samarqand, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Andijon, and Farghona Regions participated in the tournament.

In the competition among girls born in 1999-2000, the Namangan team won a victory over the Samarqand team and achieved first place. Sirdaryo Region took second place, Jizzakh Region took third place.

In the competition among girls born in 2002-2003, the Namangan volleyball team also won, defeating their opponents from Jizzakh. Uychi District’s team achieved second place, and Bukhara Region’s team took third place.

The winners and runners-up were awarded cups, diplomas and memorable gifts.
