Eid al-Fitr has always had a special place in the spiritual lives of this country’s people. In these days, such qualities as goodness, patience, love and kindness come forth.

After this country achieved independence, work to ensure respect for its people’s spiritual values and their safeguarding and to make sure that future generations also benefit from them was elevated to the level of state policy. All the necessary conditions were created to restore and develop the tenets of the holy religion of Islam, national rites and traditions.

The Eid al-Fitr festival is widely celebrated in this country every year in accordance of a decree dated 27 March 1992 of the First President of the country.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s resolution dated 20 June 2017 on celebrating Eid al-Fitr specifies that this good holiday should be celebrated in the country’s localities at a high level.

Thanks to the country’s independence, pious Muslims can freely observe religious traditions. Laws and decrees on this have been adopted. Favourable conditions have been created for pilgrims.

“Large-scale improvement work will be carried out in localities on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. In these bright days, all our compatriots exchange holiday greetings. In this atmosphere of harmony, people feel happy and contented with life,” says H.Hamidov, the chairman of the managing board of the Tashkent Regional department of the Mahalla (neighbourhood) public charity foundation.

Consistent reforms being implemented towards upholding national religious values are due to peace, calm, inter-ethnic accord and prosperity in this country.
