A ceremony has been held in Sergeli District of Tashkent to give a group of customs officers the keys to new service apartments.On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and 14 January – Motherland Defenders Day, two modern apartment houses built in the capital for officers of the country’s customs bodies were put into use. In these apartment houses built in a short space of time in complete conformity with the requirements of modern town architecture and taking account of the local climatic conditions, all conveniences were created.
An event held on this occasion was attended by officers of the central office of the State Customs Committee, the Tashkent city and Tashkent Regional customs directorates, the “Tashkent-Aero” special customs complex, the higher customs institute, the national cynology centre, veterans of the customs service and employees of mass media.
G.Shukurov, deputy chairman of the State Customs Committee; and others said that large-scale reforms being implemented in the country helped to further raise its population’s wellbeing, including that of customs officers.
Special attention is paid to material and moral encouragement for this sphere’s officers, to the improving of the infrastructure of the customs service and to the further improving of the working and living conditions of customs officers. In the past few years, a residential area was built near the “Karakalpakstan” and “Daut ata” customs posts for their officers in Karakalpakstan. A number of such apartment houses were built in Surkhondaryo and Tashkent Regions as sell as in Tashkent city.
“The provision of this apartment for us on the eve of Motherland Defenders Day is a doubly joyous occasion for our family. In response to this kind of care, we will work even more conscientiously to carry out tasks set for us,” says Nazirjon Qosimov, chief inspector of the Tashkent city customs directorate.
