Imam Termizi International Research Center in Termez has organized an exhibition “Historical Cities of the Muslim World” by famous Turkish photographer Orhan Durgut.
The solemn event dedicated to the opening of the photo exhibition was attended by employees of Surkhandarya Regional Hokimiyat, Department for Tourism Development, Imam Termizi International Research Center, students of Termez State University, Termez Branch of Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami, Educational Center for Training Afghan Citizens, Imam Termizi Secondary Special Islamic Educational Institution.
It was noted that friendship and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey are strengthening, and relations in various fields are developing at a qualitatively new level.
The exhibition of famous Turkish photographer has become a kind of practical reflection of further strengthening the ancient friendly ties between peoples of the two countries.
Orhan Durgut is implementing a major project “Islamic Cities”. It was planned to create photographs of 40 Islamic cities, but by now the project has expanded to cover 100 cities of 40 countries. The famous photographer has finished shooting in 60 cities of 40 Islamic countries.
The exhibition shows about a hundred unique photographs. Among them are pictures of sacred places of worship in Surkhandarya region, where the great ancestors Hakim at-Termizi and Abu Isa Termizi found eternal rest.
The exhibition of the world-famous photographer is planned to be presented at Termez Archaeological Museum, Denau Institute of Entrepreneurship and Pedagogy, and other institutions.
