At an enlarged meeting of the Presidium of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the results of activities carried out last year in higher education institutions, as well as current tasks for the current year, were discussed.

At an enlarged meeting of the Presidium of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the results of activities carried out last year in higher education institutions, as well as current tasks for the current year, were discussed.

The event was attended by members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, deputies of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, rectors of higher education institutions, directors of branches of higher education institutions, heads of ministries, educational inspections, and media representatives.

It was noted that to date, 28 thousand 584 students are studying at nine higher education institutions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. They are taught by more than 1600 professors, including 70 doctors of science, 461 candidates of science, 207 senior teachers and 940 assistants.

According to the roadmap developed for 2019/2020 academic year, significant work has been implemented to improve the quality of education, ensure the effectiveness of scientific-research work, increase the level of professional training of professors and teachers, and develop international cooperation.

At the event, information was heard from rectors of higher education institutions, directors of branches of education institutions. An appropriate resolution has been adopted on ensuring the execution of tasks indicated in the roadmap and elimination of existing shortcomings.

Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan M. Yerniyazov addressed the event.
