First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sodiq Safoyev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to the Republic of Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick.

At the meeting, the results of the recent visit of the Uzbekistan delegation to the United States were discussed. Uzbekistan Day was organized in the U.S. Congress and the Uzbekistan Caucus during this visit.

Jonathan Henick reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to deepening the Uzbekistan – American partnership and stressed that he highly appreciates the reforms implemented in Uzbekistan.

The participants noted the prospects for the development of trade-economic ties between Uzbekistan and the state of Mississippi and the results of cooperation in trade-economic and investment areas. The parties agreed to continue interparliamentary cooperation to create broad conditions in Uzbekistan for the U.S. private sector.
