Development Strategy Center representatives visited Germany.

In Berlin, they met with the Head of Department for Eastern Europe of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Kristin Linke, and an expert for Central Asia, Charlotte Dietrich.

The meetings were devoted to the activities of local authorities, executive and representative bodies, the role of political parties and authorities, and German experience in this area. The guests informed about the administrative structure of Uzbekistan, the basic activities of local authorities, and work to increase the role of parliamentary institutions.

According to the Development Strategy Center, representatives of the Foundation noted the role of the ongoing democratic reforms in Uzbekistan, changes in the activities of local authorities, and the foundations of representative democracy and expressed a desire to cooperate.

The visit was organized with the assistance of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan.
