Heroes of the Year
17:17 / 2021-01-08

Doctors who died during the pandemic have been recognized as “Heroes of the Year” at UzA competition “Choice of the Year – 2020”.

The award was presented to the First Deputy Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov.

2020 has been difficult for the whole world, including Uzbekistan. The coronavirus pandemic and the global crisis proved a serious test for humanity. Over 81 million people have been infected with the coronavirus in 191 countries. Over 1.7 million of them have died.

More than 200 thousand medical workers were involved in the fight against the pandemic in Uzbekistan, including 150 highly qualified foreign doctors and specialists.

Unfortunately, there are also medical workers among our compatriots who died from complications resulting from the infection.

In such a difficult situation all doctors and medical workers remained faithful to their profession and honorably performed and continue to fulfill their duty. In fact, each of the doctors and medical workers who stayed in hospitals for months without being able to come home and see their family is a real hero.
