At the invitation of the Director General of Consumers International, the delegation of the Federation of Consumer Rights Protection Societies of Uzbekistan visited Geneva, Switzerland.

On October 19, as part of the visit, the Chairman of the Federation of Consumer Rights Protection Societies of Uzbekistan, Jakhangir Sarimsakov, met with the Director General of Consumers International, Ms. Helena Leurent.

She highly appreciated the efforts of the leadership of New Uzbekistan to fully support non-governmental non-profit organizations operating in the country, particularly the public movement for the protection of consumer rights.

At the same time, Ms. Helena Leurent proposed holding the Second Consumer Forum of Europe and Asia in Bukhara and Samarkand and opening the headquarters of Consumers International in Tashkent.

The parties discussed other issues related to further developing the public movement to protect consumer rights.
