The working group for studying problems of family relations has held its scheduled expanded-format gathering in Tashkent. During the gathering, issues of strengthening family relations and preventing early marriages were discussed with a critical eye. The working group’s report was heard.The event was attended by representatives of the Tashkent city prosecutor’s office, internal affairs, justice, health main directorates, the chairmen of Tashkent city and inter-district civil courts and specialists of district hokimiyats (governorates), the Mahalla public charity foundation and the Kamolot public youth movement. During the event, there was discussion of work being carried out by relevant organizations on family relations and ways of tackling existing problems and shortcomings.
The first deputy hokim (mayor) of the city of Tashkent, M.Obidov; the chairwoman of the city women’s committee and deputy mayor, F.Abdurahimova; a deputy chief imam-prayer leader of the city of Tashkent, R.Rahmonov; the acting chairman of the board of the Tashkent city department of the Mahalla charity foundation, A.Ghulomov; and others said that special attention was being paid to giving comprehensive support to young families, strengthening the social fabric of families, ensuring their peace and calm and bringing up children to be physically healthy and morally mature.
“Families are primary social units and sacred groups ensuring the continuity of generations. There are more than 700 thousand families in our capital city. As a result of measures taken in the first 11 months of the year 2016, 1 thousand 12 families were saved from divorce,” says Nasiba Najmiddinova, senior specialist of the Tashkent city civil court.
During the gathering, there was discussion about strengthening families’ healthy atmosphere and preventing marriages between close relatives and early marriages.
It was noted at the gathering that it was necessary to give material and moral support to young families, to provide social protection to motherhood and childhood and to preserve national values.
