The Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Abdukhakim Khadjibayev received the South Korean delegation led by the First Deputy Chairman of Korea Uzbekistan Business Association (KUBA) Kim Chang Keon, in Tashkent.
At the meeting, the parties discussed promising projects in healthcare, which are currently being promoted together with South Korean partners.
The Minister informed the South Korean side of the high level of cooperation between the two countries in healthcare and medicine. The main attention was paid to the assistance of the South Korean government during the pandemic, including by sending leading experts to Uzbekistan for consultations and joint development of instructions on combating coronavirus and preventing its spread throughout the country. The minister also thanked the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul, KUBA and the association’s member companies for the timely humanitarian assistance provided in the form of medical equipment, supplies and personal protective equipment.
Mr. Kim Chang Keon informed about the readiness of the South Korean side to continue to work on collecting and sending humanitarian aid to Uzbekistan. He also noted that KUBA is ready to implement a project to improve Uzbekistan’s healthcare system, namely the development of distance medical services.
Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on cooperation and active promotion of the proposed project.
