Samarkand State Medical University hosted an international scientific-practical conference on “Training, retraining of managerial personnel in the healthcare system and the transformation of continuing professional education”.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Center for the Development of Professional Qualifications of Medical Workers, Samarkand State Medical University, Westminster International University in Tashkent, and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
Experts from Uzbekistan, Russia, Belarus, the UK, Germany, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan attended the event.
The event aims to increase managerial capacity in the healthcare system, modernize the training and retraining of medical workers, and adapt the system of continuing professional education to international standards.

Addressing the conference, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Asilbek Khudoyorov, spoke about the transformations underway in the sphere and the role of international cooperation in modernizing the healthcare system. He also stressed that the conference will be a significant step in the development of the healthcare sector, especially in areas such as the scientific approach, management culture, and the introduction of digital technologies.
After the plenary session, the conference continued in five sections. Reports on current topics were heard, and practical skills were demonstrated.
Scientific ideas, practical recommendations, and international experience presented at the conference will serve as an essential basis for determining further directions for the development of the healthcare system in Uzbekistan.
