October 15 – International Day of Rural Women
A resident of Nayman village in Takhiatash district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Qizlargul Jumaniyazova, has worked in the agricultural sector for almost 50 years.
She is the head of the “Sanobar Saparboyeva” farm, which has 52 hectares of land. Cotton is grown on 32 hectares, grain is grown on 10 hectares, vegetables and melons are grown on 7 hectares, an orchard occupies one hectare, and a mulberry grove occupies 4 hectares.
The farm is one of the first to fulfill state obligations to deliver cotton, grain, and silkworm cocoons. In particular, the farm delivered 300 kilograms of cocoons and 28 tons of grain this year. It fulfilled the contract plan by more than 100 percent. The plan for delivering cotton to the state will also be exceeded in the coming days.
The selfless work of farmer Qizlargul Jumaniyazova in agriculture received a worthy assessment from the state. In 1999, she was awarded the “Dustlik” (Friendship) Order. In 2008, she was awarded the honorary title “Honored Cotton Grower of the Republic of Karakalpakstan”. In 2021, she was awarded the badge “Mutabar Ayol” (“Women of Reverence”).
