At the 19th Asian Games, the Uzbekistan women’s fencing team won a gold medal in the saber competition and recorded a historic result.

In the decisive final round, they defeated the Japanese team. The team included Zaynab Dayibekova, Guliston Perdabayeva, and Paola Pliego.
